Touchstone 101 – An Inside Look to Legal Resources and Outplacement

My name is Tracy Callahan, and welcome to my exciting journey into legal resources and career transition outplacement services. I chose to create a blog about attorney and legal outplacement because I have been supporting the legal industry for more than 20 years, and I’d like to share my experience.

How I Can Help

I have spent most of my adult life helping law firm leaders and individual attorneys as a:

The first thing people want to know about attorney and legal outplacement is why they’ve never heard of it. I explain that while most law firms could benefit from offering career transition and outplacement services, very few do. Why? Because most law firm leaders haven’t realized that they can positively influence how their former colleagues impact the firm. So if attorney-specific career transition services aren’t on the radar of leadership, they’re on the radar of the rest of the firm and the legal profession in general. Also, when these services are offered, to protect the firm and the individual attorney, the existence of the relationship with the outplacement provider is kept confidential.

As a result, an attorney-specific career transition service isn’t “a thing.” I’m working hard to change that.

Because of my many years and many roles supporting the legal industry, I can help law firm leaders understand that offering a program dedicated to attorney outplacement and career transition to their exiting attorneys is the right thing to do for both emotional and business reasons.
