Let’s be honest—this might be the moment you start asking questions you’ve been trying to ignore.
Like whether you can keep sacrificing your well-being for a firm that doesn’t see you.
Whether building this career is worth it if it means always being the one who cancels.
Whether you’re ready to walk away from law entirely—just to get your life back.
This is the side of private practice no one prepares you for.
The burnout.
The loneliness.
The pressure to pretend you're "fine."
You’re not alone in feeling this way. And you don’t have to stay stuck here.
Sure, you knew the road would be demanding.
You expected long hours, high standards, and the pressure to prove yourself.
And early on, that pace may have even felt energizing. You’re driven. You deliver. You know what it means to be part of a big client win—and to earn the trust and respect of people who don’t give it easily.
But at some point, the version of success you’ve been chasing starts to feel… less satisfying.
Not because you’re ungrateful.
Not because you can’t handle it.
But because somewhere along the way, you lost track of what you actually want.
Yes, you have the salary. The title. Maybe even the house and the car.
But if those things aren’t adding up to a life that feels like yours—that disconnection is real. And it’s not something you have to ignore.
It’s time to look beyond the version of success you’ve been handed,
because there is more available to you.
What many women don’t realize is that there are real alternatives.
And they don’t always require leaving your firm—or your career—behind.
What If . . .
You could show up for your family and deliver at a high level in your practice?
You could grow in your career without sacrificing the relationships that matter most?
You could make partner without losing yourself in the process?
You could attend your child’s school play or your parent’s medical appointment without guilt, apology, or fallout?
You could define success in a way that actually works for your life?
All of that is possible.
How do I know? Because I've helped women make it happen.
If We Haven't Met Yet . . .
I’m Tracy Callahan, and I’ve spent more than 30 years behind the scenes of law firms—recruiting, outplacing, and advising attorneys at every stage of their careers.
In that time, I’ve seen how much negotiation happens behind closed doors—and how often talented women leave firms not because they can’t do the work, but because no one asked what they needed until it was too late.
I’ve also seen how different firms operate, what’s truly negotiable, and what makes a sustainable legal career possible.
Now, I work directly with women attorneys to help them define their own version of success—and build a life that honors both their ambition and their personal priorities.

Most attorneys don’t realize how much power they actually have
or how many paths exist to thrive within private practice.
The old narrative says equity partnership is the only stable outcome
and that you have to sacrifice everything to get there.
But that story is changing.
Today, success can look like setting real boundaries, having a say in how you work,
and building a career that fits your life—not the other way around.

Empowering Women Attorneys for Success and Well-being
How It Works
When I work with my clients, we do two things . . . we plan and we do. While I make it sound simple, it’s hard work.
1. The Planning: Your Top of the Mountain
We begin our work by getting to the heart of who you are and what you value. This will help you create a clearer picture—or your Top of the Mountain, as I call it—of what peak success—both personal and professional—looks like to you. Then, we can use this picture as a touchstone for making decisions as you move forward.
In this phase, we will:
- Get real about what you truly value and want personally and professionally
- Reassess your relationship with what loyalty and success mean to you
- Decide what can and cannot be changed
- Craft a comprehensive depiction of what your Top of the Mountain looks like.
- Get clear on why the juice is worth the squeeze (so I can remind you when the going gets tough!)
2. The Doing: Action with Intention
As I’ve mentioned, I’ve supported the legal industry for 30 years, with firms ranging from 3 to 2,000 attorneys. I know how the wacky world of law firm partnerships operates—where most “rules” are actually just guidelines. This gives YOU a secret advantage because I can help you negotiate for what you want, uncover opportunities you didn’t know existed, and if necessary . . . find you a firm that is a better fit.
With your Top of the Mountain as your touchstone, we get to work on making it happen. This journey looks different for everyone because your situation and desires are unique.
The first six months of our engagement are dedicated to brainstorming, deciding, practicing, and role-playing—fine-tuning every aspect of your plan. It’s about defining the steps and skills you need to reach your goals. We only begin implementation in the final two months, setting the stage for you to take the reins once our coaching concludes confidently.
In this phase we . . .
- Delineate the personal and professional skills necessary to achieve your new goals.
- Engage in role-playing and practice conversations and negotiations aimed at attaining your desired outcome.
- Create plans A, B, and C for every scenario, ensuring you never settle.
- Incorporate structured feedback loops to track progress and adjust our strategies, reinforcing accountability throughout the process.
- Continually assess, adjust, and upskill until you feel confident navigating independently.
When we’re finished, you’ll look back and wonder how you were even surviving, and move forward with clarity and confidence in your path ahead. You’ll graduate after eight months with everything you need to move forward independently, but I’ll be available via phone and email on an as-needed basis. You’re implementing your plan to your Top of the Mountain, knowing guidance is always within reach.

Commit To Lasting Change
I’ve designed our experience together to be comprehensive and impactful, typically spanning at least eight months. This time frame allows us to thoroughly navigate the intricacies and obstacles that may arise, ensuring you have ample opportunity to develop and master new skills. This period is crucial for implementing lasting changes both in your personal and professional life, ultimately bringing your Top of the Mountain to fruition.
And, what kind of changes can you expect? The possibilities are endless . . . Here are a few highlights of the transformation you can expect in your personal and professional life . . .
