About

Meet Tracy Callahan

I believe the legal profession—and our communities—are stronger when more women stay in private practice and thrive. That belief is at the heart of everything I do.

For over 30 years, I’ve worked behind the scenes of law firms of every size, supporting attorneys and leadership across:

  • Lateral recruitment and onboarding

  • Strategic planning and business development

  • Attorney coaching and outplacement

  • Leadership consulting and culture alignment

This broad perspective has shown me what most attorneys never get to see: how decisions are really made, what’s actually negotiable, and how internal dynamics quietly shape the trajectory of a legal career.

I understand the pressures women face in private practice—long hours, rigid cultures, invisible rules, and the constant strain of balancing career and life. I also know it’s possible to build a career that works with your life, not around it.

My mission is clear: To help women attorneys create success in private practice on their terms.

You don’t have to walk away to reclaim your life.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

Tracy Callahan of Touchstone Legal Resources

Over the past 30 years, I’ve worked with law firms of every size—from three-attorney boutiques to global giants. I’ve led multi-million-dollar marketing initiatives, recruited and outplaced attorneys across all levels, and advised firm leaders behind closed doors during high-stakes, bet-the-firm moments.

I’ve coached women through career pivots, internal promotions, and high-trust transitions—like stepping into the practice of a retiring partner. I’ve also supported attorneys through family leave—helping them plan their departure, maintain a sense of connection during their time away, and return with clarity and confidence.

I’ve been the trusted advisor to the people who shape law firm culture from the top. And here's what I know:

Life in a law firm is shifting. And there's real opportunity—if you know how to navigate it!

You’ve likely noticed the shifts too.

Remote work is no longer the exception—it’s part of how most firms operate.

A generational shift is underway, with new leaders bringing different perspectives and priorities to firm culture.

Firms that foster two-way communication are seeing the payoff—in retention, engagement, and a healthier bottom line.

You may have come up in a world where ambition was everything, titles defined success, and burnout was quietly expected. But this moment—right now—offers a chance to do it differently.

To build a legal career that reflects who you are now, not just the version of you that got here.

My role is to help women attorneys get clear on what they want their life to look like, redefine success on their own terms, and take practical steps to align their work with their real priorities.

It starts with a conversation.

If you’re ready to explore what’s possible, visit the Work With Me page. I’ll help you take the next step with clarity and confidence.

I’m Tracy Callahan, the Managing Member of Touchstone Legal Resources and a long-time advocate for women attorneys navigating private practice with ambition AND intention.

Before launching Touchstone in 2014, I spent 17 years on the marketing and business development teams of firms like Benesch (Cleveland), Vinson & Elkins (Houston), and Greenberg Traurig (Denver). That chapter gave me the opportunity to contribute to the legal field in diverse markets and develop a deep understanding of firm culture across the country.

I went on to lead the legal division at Denver’s top-ranked executive search firm, where I supported attorneys through pivotal career transitions and firm leaders through high-stakes hiring decisions.

Touchstone was born from that experience—with one clear goal:
To offer tailored, discreet support for the complex, often quiet challenges attorneys face behind the scenes.

What Sets Me Apart

  • Law-Firm Focused: I work exclusively within the legal profession—partnering with attorneys and firm leaders to create sustainable, career-aligned success.
  • Strategic and Personalized: Every engagement is tailored to your goals, your timeline, and the realities of your practice.
  • Direct, Confidential Access: You’ll work directly with me—not a team of associates—so your strategy stays focused and discreet.
  • Immediate Relief, Quick Clarity: From our first conversation, you’ll  feel more grounded, more focused, and more hopeful about what’s possible.
  • Redefining Success: This isn’t about checking boxes. It’s about building a career that reflects your values, your life, and your goals.
